MILA Midwifery has been inspired from continuous feedback received from women and families to assist with the transition from pregnancy to birth and throughout the postnatal period. During my extensive midwifery career, I have worked alongside families to provide care in the transition to parenthood, with regular offers “to take me home with them” post hospital discharge. I have long recognised the gap in the availability of support provided from leaving the security of the hospital (where assistance is only a buzz away!) to when families take their baby home. During this transition is often when challenges arise.

​MILA midwifery offers parents the opportunity to have an experienced, caring and compassionate midwife come to their home and assist with all aspects of both antenatal care and postnatal care.

 

During the postnatal period, home visits enable me to provide practical guidance with any issues that may arise by implementing some of the tried and true solutions that have evolved from both my own professional and personal experience. Feeding preferences, lactation support and guidance, settling and sleep solutions are just some of the areas addressed that are aimed to satisfy newborn needs and compliment healthy parenting goals.
